What is an energy drink?

Energy drinks are characterised by their unique combination of ingredients, such as caffeine content per 250ml can, Taurine and a combination of vitamins. Sports drinks such as Gatorade, Isostar etc. are not considered energy drinks, since they do not fulfil these characteristics. Apart from the ingredients above mentioned, the distribution channels of energy and sports drinks are very different due to the fact that sports drinks are usually not sold in restaurants, bars and/or night clubs. On the other hand, energy drinks do not contain alcohol.

What does guarana do?

Opposite to the caffeine found in coffee, guarana caffeine is slowly released in the body, due to its high dietetic and crude fibre content. Therefore, its effect lasts longer, while the one of coffee is shorter, making guarana ideal for those who cannot drink coffee. Guarana has a refreshing and vitalising effect in both body and soul, stimulating and enhancing perception, as well as increasing the levels of concentration. Its active ingredient guanine urges the brain to increase activity but, unlike coffee, it does not create anxiety. Instead has a balancing effect on the entire body. Guarana also has a stabilising effect on blood system, soothing as well the stomach and intestines. At a continuous and stable level, the stimulating effect of guarana lasts up to six hours without causing any adverse reactions. Guarana is healthy and has a strengthening and beneficial effect in our body, when taken regularly.
