Great Result

on the new track in Aragon, Spain

Aragon, Spain: The brand new circuit at Motorland Aragon is the replacement of the Hungarian GP, where the track is still under construction. To accelerate the knowledge of the track the organization arranged a double practice session.

Both Forward Racing Team riders took advantage of this opportunity ending up at the top of the timesheet. Claudio Corti was ranked third in the first free practice and also his teammate Jules Cluzel worked concentrated on the set-up for the race, finishing the morning session in sixteenth position.

Unfortunately, the second free practice was rather hampered by the rain that surprised the Spanish circuit just a few minutes after the start, preventing in fact the riders to collect further information to improve the setting of the bikes.

The sun has finally started to shine above the modern circuit of Aragon on Saturday and fortunately the weather conditions remained constant. This new structure, loved and praised by most of the riders, was the scene of a beautiful day for the Forward Racing Team. In fact, both riders were in a good position to tackle Sunday‘s race as protagonists. The young Italian, Claudio Corti, started from a fantastic sixth place while his teammate, Jules Cluzel, although starting from the fourth row, had a very good feeling with his bike that made him confident to be able to battle with the fastest.

Under a fabulous sun the twelfth Moto2 race took place with both Forward Racing Team riders battling with the fastest. Jules Cluzel concluded the weekend with a remarkable sixth place, while his teammate, Claudio Corti, after being on the top of the timesheet during all practice sessions, was slowed down by a problem with his rear tyre, finishing in eleventh position. Despite this limitation, Claudio confirmed the positive trend of recent races that have seen him consistently near the top ten. Jules could show one more time his great determination during the race, which surely will allow him to figure out some good results during the next three overseas races.

DARK DOG congratulates its riders to the good results and is looking forward to support the team with MORE ENERGY during the next race in Motegi, Japan.

Jules Cluzel

6th position
"I think I did a good race. For sure I cannot dream of fighting for the victory after starting fourteenth, but I‘m happy with my performance. Once again I had a perfect start, earning several positions in the first corner. At the beginning of the race I was able to keep a good speed, but following Elias I noticed I was losing too much time in acceleration and to stay with him I had to take a higher risk while entering in the corner. Unfortunately, towards the end of the race when the tires lost grip I had to slow down to avoid the risk of crashing out. Anyway I felt very comfortable with my bike, there are still some areas we need to improve, but I am convinced that I will return to fight for the podium during the next Grand Prixs."

Claudio Corti

11th position
"I'm really angry, unfortunately I had some problems with my rear tyre that has cancelled all the excellent work the team and me did this weekend. I could definitely improve my pace if this inconvenience would not have happened. However, starting from Indianapolis we have matured steadily and this gives me the hope that I can do a good job during the next three races, even if unfortunately they will be more difficult for me because I do not know the tracks; I’m sure I will have the best possible support from my technicians and I hope to repay them with those good results which are still lacking."
